Tea Ceremony Experience
Immerse yourself in the ancient art of Japanese tea ceremony as you enter the sacred space of the tatami-floored specialized room. The licensed teacher will welcome you into her beautiful home with handmade sweets to offset the mild bitterness of the ceremonial grade tea. A fully-guided local experience with a member of our team offering translation to help unlock the mysteries that define “Chado”, the deeply traditional Way of Tea.

Pottery Experience
Try your hand at throwing clay and creating your own unique souvenir of your time in Japan. Complete beginners are welcome as the pottery teacher will take you through the process step by step; choose from a bowl, cup, chopstick rests, and so on. After selecting your glaze color, the items will be fired at a later date and sent directly to your home. Enjoy unwrapping your handmade items and remembering your trip.

Taiko Drumming Experience
Start the session by learning about the historical background of taiko drumming, sometimes called wadaiko. Your experienced teacher will demonstrate how to grip the drumsticks, then guide you through the process of striking techniques. You will learn how the sounds the taiko drums produce differ when the core and the rim of the wadaiko are struck. Once you have the basic technique mastered, you will be given time to practice. Then for the finale...the performance, Good luck!
